Pink Among The Blue???

For All Y'All Fellow Texans Out There: Have you ever seen a pinkbonnet nestled in a field of bluebonnets? A very unexpected, but beautiful sight!

For All Non-Texans: Bluebonnets are the Texas state flower. They grow wild between March and May and a field of bluebonnets is a beautiful sight. It is a tradition to take the kids to a bluebonnet field each year for pictures. Enjoy!

Good Times!

We attended a BBQ last weekend at my sisters home where we got to visit with her family as well as my brother and his wife. Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed a tasty steak dinner. The boys loved seeing their cousins and had a great time! Here's a picture of them enjoying driving the go-kart.

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words....

Dont' adjust your screen, this picture requires your imagination. You're familiar with the old adage "a picture is worth a thousand words", well this one may require a thousand words to describe it (a.k.a. we didn't capture it on camera!).

Picture this, Melanie goes out for the evening, leaving John on babysitting duty. This was the same night that the Maverick's were playing in a playoff game, so of course, John was in the bedroom intently enjoying the basketball game.

The boys were entertaining themselves in the living room. From what I could gather (various bystander reports), John called to the boys asking them to go to bed. Later he goes to check on them and much to his dismay Ryan is not in his bed. He starts to search for him. He looks in all the basic places with no success. Then he starts to search more in-depth, such as under beds, behind couches etc. He is really starting to panic now as it's been about fifteen minutes of searching.

He goes and wakes up Jake and says "Where's Ryan?" Jake in his sleepy stupor didn't know. So he launches another full-house search. There in the middle of the living room floor (somewhere he had walked past at least a dozen times during the search) was a square laundry basket with a 3-year old boy inside, peacefully curled up like a snake, fast asleep.

I've posted several picture in the past of Ryan sleeping in funny places. However, had we have captured this one it may have been the best one yet!

Rainy Day Rock Band

What better thing to do on a rainy day than to form a rock band with homemade instruments?? The boys had fun making a guitar, banjo, shaker, lid slapper, glass water bells and a hand drum. They named themselves "The Rockies" and I must say the name fit as the music they made was a bit rocky. Let me know if you would like to book them for your next event, they are a sure crowd pleaser ;)

Who's That Masked Man??

Dylan has taken up the art of Fencing. Here's some pictures from his first day. He had such a great time, and really enjoyed learning something new that involved a sword (or Foil). We're sure that with Dylan's hard work & determination it won't be long before he looks like this ;)

Sweet Muffins

Today, Ryan and I were sitting side-by-side at the breakfast table each enjoying a bowl of cereal. I leaned over and whispered in Ryan's ear "Sweet Nothings". He smiled and sat quietly for a minute, then whispered back in my ear "Sweet Muffins". Does it get any better than that?? Enjoy your day ;)

Aye Carumba! Not Again...

1 Sweet Boy

3 Weeks Apart

1 Mother's Nightmare

If you look carefully one inch to the right of this set of stitches you will see his other scar from 3 weeks ago {SIGH}. The only good news is that his brothers were at school when it happened, so they weren't involved this time.
